KW -Kunst Werke Contemporaray Art in Berlin

Ett konstverk där man broderat en kvinnas nakna torso med stora stygn.

The Art Biennale in Berlin

Both Mayuni Chari and Zuzanna Hertzberg use textile for their art works. Mayuni does the sowing herself, and Zuzanna is printing photos on textile and sowes them together. Both of them are doing some very impressive pieces of art work. Both the ideas and performed. I imagine photo on textile is quite different from when I was a professional photographer. I started out before everything went digital, and then we had to mix the emulsion, and apply it on the cloth, all in the darkroom. Then dry it… and then you could print. And you only had the cloth you had. I remember it being a mess. But also very very creative and fun.

Mayuri Chari

These embrodieries by Mayuri Chari are larger than natural size. The works are called I was not created for pleasure. Of course I feel like going straight back home to try an embrodery project myself. Knowing, it WILL not happen. But her work is amazingly beautiful.

Individual and Collective Resistance of Women During the Shoah

By Zuzanna Hertzberg.

The works describes the female jewish resistance during the holocaust. Right now, it’s aespecially important to remember this herrendous part of history. And, the fact that a lot more people than jews were killed as well. All of it is almost unimaginable.

The backside (above) isn’t as remarkable as the embroideries, but technically impressive, and therefore intresting.
