Ostello Porto Venere
I found this hostel through Hostelworld. Nothing to rave about. Inexpensive and you get what you’re paying for. Difficult to find though. And my sence of locality doesn’t give that mych of assistance.
If you ask someone for direction, it’s a 50/50 chance you’ll find it. Some seem to know the adress, just not… how to get there. Google maps will be of very little assistance, or even make it even more frustrating. I do realise frustaration is a personal thing though. How do others manage not getting an internal session of tourettes when the’re challenged beyond..?
Anyway, follow my red arrows, and you’ll find it.
My home made analysis of hostals is the following. If the dorms are on the bigger side, it’s easier to connect to the other travellers/roomates. If it’s a bit tight, we curl up inside to respect other peoples personal space even more. No… I have no psychology degree. Use 2:nd & 3:rd opinion if you want to get closer to the educated truth.
I beleive there was some scout breakfast included in the price. No… I’m not a scout.
Ostello di Porto Venere is located at Via Del Comune 1.
Rifugio Muzzerone – a challenge to get to, but amazing
No, I didn’t stay here. I just found it by chance on one of my morning exercise-exploring. It’s an adorable little hostal hidden in the bush and up on the mountain behind “Porto Venere City”. Had I known about this place, I would have made an effort to book here. Imagine waking up and having this view for breakfast🙏
On the map, the location looks a bit more remote than it actually is. But yes, it’s a bit of an uphill to get to it. If you use a walker or suffer from difficulties with your balance, this place is not your best choice.
Rifugio Muzzerone is located “at” Alta, Via delle Cinque Terre. It seems like you have to contact them directly to make a booking here. Here is their instagram that for sure does the place justice.
