Eat & Drink in Lecce, Italy
When it’s 38 degrees no food in the world can impress me. I’m sorry. With a daytime temperature of +38° C (F 100°) and + 28° C (F 82°) at night eating is a challenge. Which reminds me this is only days of my life, and it’s only me that’s temporarily suffering. While this summer gives plenty of signs, especially in Italy where the river Po dried out so bad that so many of the farmers production was severely lost. Climate change… and we always have a bunch of more climate friendly options when we travel. No, I’m not suggesting that we all start travelling by bike. But more awareness of all the choises we make daily. Do they really add value to our life, or are we just wasting good choices by routine more than with a hope for a healthy and sustainable future?
Back to my own… choices. The selfish ones. It’s very warm to say the least, and I rather drink than eat. Coke with real sugar (electrolytes), Aprerol Spritz and…. Ice Cream.
Lecce is another amazingly beautiful touristy city. Yes, it’s for sure a city. I could have made more of an effort to find better restaurants. But I didn’t. And more than survived.
Favourite on Repeat -Bar Euclide in Lecce
The well trafficed street crossing with the red plastic chairs. The ones that makes me slide around… due to the +36° C.
Breakfast, and then late afternoon. Every day.
Bar Euclide Pinarello is located at Piazzetta Caduti sul Lavoro.
Cotognata Leccese
Neither the lunch, or cookies scored 10 points in aesthetics. But if possible (I don’t follow this myself when it comes to food…) dont judge the dog by it’s hair. And only… italian from the hoods. Plus me that is. I’d highly recommend this place.
I can’t really figure out what a pasticceria is. But the others at the “joint” 😂 eat lunch or have coffe. It says bar on the sign, and… they sell cookies inside. There you have the list of ingredients in a pasticceria in Lecce.
The LunchCoffeBaceryBar Cotognata Leccese is located at Via G. Marconi 51.
